A very diverse collection of cars, motor-bikes, and mopeds joined in for the veteran rally. Not sure how many, but a lot more than I expected. Here's a few of them.
March 8: First Bialitt meeting of the year where you could actually look at the cars in the car park. Two 96's at this meeting, expect there will be a lot more next time.
March 25: First Bil-O Skåne Rally. The rally started and finished in Dalby and was a lot of fun. We used the Saab 900i with Elisabeth as driver and myself as navigator. Unfortunately no photos were taken.
April 14: Off to the first real rally, "DM-Anderslövsrallyt". To watch, not participate, I will leave that to the others. Managed to park at the end of Stage 1 and walk to an interesting section.
One Saab 96 in the race, the sound of the 2-stroke was music.
The only other Saabklubben member I came across was Bengt, he is the one in the orange jacket on the left. Working hard, as usual.
April 28: Off to another rally, "Kong Christian Race 2007". Again, to watch, not participate. Bit of a drive to the rally, did it in two parts, drove the Saab 96 to Bengt in Horby.
Its looking better these days, but Bengt's 1973 Sonett III definitely stole the day, magic car! Got there early so we got a good parking space not too far from the action.
A lot of Saab's on the track.
And some other interesting cars. You can find more images I took here.
If you haven't seen a Saab Sonett before, here's an indication of its size! My size!
May 3: Not much of a trip, but a trip to Helsingborg to put the Combi-Camp through MOT, passed with clean papers.
May 6: Vårrundan May 2007. A fantastic trip.
A little more work has been done to the car but nothing that would make it compare to the other cars there.
In my eyes, this was the car of the day, it must be so much fun.
And quiet a few other Saabs, 2-strokes, now thats a real Saab. You can find more images here.
May 17: Revingehed Regementets Dag . A good day out with the 96 enjoying all the activities, 11.500 visitors, amazing!
June 2: Tolvskillingsrallyt 2007 (Motorhistoriska Klubben i Skåne). A fun day out, the weather wasn't the best but that didn't everyone from taking to the road.
Out of 80 odd different cars, 3 were Saab's.
It was always interesting seeing the different cars at the check points.
And for some reason the big cars always try sneak up on my Saab, just to make it look a little smaller.
The 95 does have a good rear end, especially on such a well kept example.
June 14: Bialitt. Perfect day out for a drive, coffee, and good conversation. A lot of cars turned up, this was before the carpark was full.
4 Sonett's turned up, only got photos of 3, magic cars.
Some very well kept cars, well one of them is, the other just looks good in the photo.
But there's no doubt about these two, what dreams are made off.
June 26: Tisdagsträffarna på Vikingatider i Löddeköpinge: Glad I made it to this one and will try and make it to as many as possible, definitely a good evening out.
This is what a Rally Replica should look like.
A Lotus or two!
Now this is a machine, but just think what the engine compartment, let alone performance, of a 96 would be with one of these in it (1800cc V-Twin).
Simplicity - That's neat.
A car with a lot of character.
And a photograph of myself, thanks for the image Bengt.
July 1: Eslövs MK LBC-Racet: Interesting day watching the cars racing on tarmac. At least I know when I am meeting up with Bengt, my car is in good company.
Always someone who has to show off. Thought it was 3-wheel drive, but it looks like standard 2 wheel drive.
Always good to see well turned out Escorts.
Our Saab's weren't the only old cars, this Volvo PV was in immaculate condition, Nice!
July 3: BilCafe Tydinge: An enjoyable drive, about 120km each way, and good company. As with all car meetings, it is nearly impossible to take a photo of all the cars, will keep trying.
Three Saab's turned up, a nice 1977/70/? V4 96, love the roofrack and suitcase.
A well turned out 1975 Saab 99 2.0l, interestingly the paint has never been polished, but it still looks new.
Old faithful, but she did have a bit of a cold on the way home, some spluttering when pulling away after long stretches on the motorway. Nothing a good tune-up won't cure.
And in American terms, a cool cruiser, that must be something to tour around in.
July 10: Tisdagsträffarna på Vikingatider i Löddeköpinge: Not so lucky with the weather this time, but a lot more Saab's turned up. The new, and the not so new!.
A total of 4 Sonett's turned up, they do look nice.
A nice 2-stroke in good running condition.
A very good Saab 99.
By the end of the meeting there was some sun, Bengt did his best to enjoy it. How does he fit in the Sonett? You can find more images I took here.
July 12: Bialitt: Weather may not have been too good but the turn out of cars was exceptional.
Old faithful was there and I managed to get more decals for the car, not to decide where to put them.
Some very nicely turned out Saab 96 V4's, besides paintwork or wheels, I was really jealous they all had sports exhausts fitted.
Dan & Lisa were there with their DKW.
What Saab's are all about, a Saab 92, very nice!
July 21: Thulinträffen i Landskrona: The day didn't start out the best but people turned up, getting ready for the drive into the meeting.
A very nice location for the meeting, even the weather started to clear up.
The Saab Sonett III is a nice sports car, but...
... some sports cars are just out there on their own.
Different styles for different people. The Volvo PV was one of the trophy winners.
So many cars to pee on, must have a nap first.
On half of the 2-hp fire engine that was going back and forth.
A very nice Volvo Duet with caravan, the interior of the caravan was cluttered with 50's and 60's goodies.
A A lot of interest at the Saab Skania display all throughout the day, even my Thomson Glen doesn't look too bad. You can find more of the images I took here.
July 26: Träff hos Lisa och Dan: A year since our first Saab meeting which was at Lisa and Dan, a lot has happened in that year and even though the weather wasn't perfect, it was the perfect anniversary.
Two cars from the same year, now I know what the colour should look like on my car.
Red looks good on the old and new 96, as well as the Dan's DKW.
Ronal rims, Yes Please!
