September 2007: Got the roof rack out to see what needs done. A bit of rust in places.
But in general it just looks dull and the metal has oxidized.
Strange type of fibre tape on the bracket, will replace this with rubber.
First task done, stripped down for cleaning and painting.
Cleaned, primed, and painted.
All parts that could be dismanteled, where.
I was pleased with the finish, zinc undercoat (Branford zinkspray) and a thin coat of metal finish spray (Hobbyfärg med metalleffekt).
Roof rack now complete and test fitted on the Saab 96.
It fits well, and I think the final results are good. Some new bolts, tidy up the rubber, and the renovation is finished.
